Payment provider
Fee and net per transaction
Authorised through OAuth, Seamline pulls PayPal transaction reports and disputes and reconciles them against Shopify orders, per currency.
What is read
- Transactions with gross amount, fee and net per currency
- Event type, status and subject for each record
- Disputes with amount, reason, stage and outcome
- Buyer transaction ids used to link a dispute to an order
Where it lands
- Fee and net feed the payment fee-rate check against the 30-day baseline
- Nets are summed per currency and compared with paid-order totals
- When PayPal omits the net amount, it is derived as gross minus fee
- Dispute outcomes and refunded amounts attach to the affected order
Rules fed by PayPal
The same gateway checks as other payment providers, run per gateway and per currency.
- Payment fee rate above baseline
- Gateway effective fee rate rises above the 30-day volume-weighted baseline
- Order-vs-gateway reconciliation gap
- Shopify paid-order net amounts diverge from gateway transaction nets
- Dispute & chargeback spike
- Gateway disputes spike within a 7-day sliding window
Known limits
- The reporting window covers at most 31 days per call; longer ranges are split automatically
- The disputes API has no end-time filter, so its window follows update time
- PayPal payout timing is not collected, so arrival dates come from store transaction records
- Sandbox and live credentials are separate connections
